Six years ago I started something kind of random. It was called a BLOG. I had no idea what I was doing, but I opened up my free blogger template at bellethemagazine.blogspot.com and posted something (It is still live now, btw).
But, why blogging about weddings?
When I was getting married I discovered that in my town there was no local magazine to help brides plan their weddings. My husband-to-be was already in publishing and working for a newspaper, so we decided that we would get together and create something local for brides.
Belle The Magazine started as a local magazine, but we grew into a bilingual magazine—in both Mexico and the United States. I had started doing the blog in 2009 as a complementary online version of the magazine. As it turned out, blogging turned everything I was planning to do outside of blogging upside down and it became the core of what I do. In 2011 the blog was doing so well that I stopped doing everything else and started focusing entirely on the BelleTheMagazine.com. It was more than I'd ever imagined — and it became my career, my livelihood and a passion all on its own.
Yesterday we actually published our 1,500th post, so 6 years and 1,500 post later here we are enjoying every moment! It has been an amazing journey… I love what I do!
