When I Said Yes! My Number One Tip for Brides-To-Be

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jewelers Mutual Insurance. All opinions are 100% mine.

The man of your dreams popped the question. You said yes. Hooray! You’re engaged! Believe me darlings, I know that sparkling ring is perfect in every way possible. I once was a newly-engaged gal just like you who couldn’t contain her excitement over the very special piece of jewelry.

My now husband of 12 years, popped the question one New Year's Eve evening in my hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico. I was a student at the University of Texas when I met my hubby. After a year of dating, I went back home to Mexico for the holidays. My then fiancé came over to visit and spend New Years with me. I wanted my family to really get to know John (my husband), so we planned a low key dinner at Applebee's to celebrate the New Year. John wasn’t really happy about our choice, and I couldn’t understand why. Little did I knew he had his mind set on proposing in NYE, so we could also share the moment with my family. And well… you guess right! He proposed at Applebee’s. Not the most romantic place, but it wasn’t really his fault. After the backward count ended he got on one knee and pop the question and I said YES!

Once I finally peeled my eyes away from that stunning sparkler on my finger, reality seeped in and decision-making time commenced. Have you started your wedding planning processes yet? Well, whether you are barely choosing a date or already picking the final details, one thing is for sure, it is never too early or too late to insure your wedding ring.

Accidents happen and countless brides and grooms have lost or damaged their beloved rings. I’m sad to say that my hubby is among this group. He managed to last five years with his original wedding band, (which I actually give him some credit for). Especially after hearing that our friend only had his for a couple days, after it slipped off his finger in the ocean during his honeymoon. If you survey your family and friends, you may be surprised at the number of people who have had to replace or repair their rings.

The only way to completely protect yourself is to cover yourself with a specific jewelry insurance policy that could cover your rings anytime, anywhere. Jewelers Mutual is the perfect choice — bonus points for how quick and easy it is to get a free online quote from them.
