Happy New Year, Lovelies! We are starting off 2018 with this gorgeous couple who decided to ring in the new year as newlyweds! Gold hues sprinkled into the white and ivory color palette looked sophisticated and oh-so-chic. The beautiful bride wore her mother’s gown down the aisle and after kissing her groom and saying her I-do’s, waltzed into the reception to Beauty and the Beast’s, “Tale as Old as Time”. The seven sparkling bridesmaids embraced the glitz of NYE, toasting with mini champagne bottles for the countdown to the ball drop! Candles and flowers adorned the venue perfectly. A NEW YEAR'S EVE FAIRYTALE
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
I dreamed of a New Year's Eve wedding for a very long time! Cory and I really just wanted it to be a special and fun night for us and all of our family and friends. My mother is the one who had the vision and brought it to life! I simply requested that the theme be “gold” – is that a theme?! My mom surprised me by adding in subtle nods to my all-time favorite movie, Beauty and the Beast. It was the perfect balance between celebrating our marriage and the New Year. We didn't want to ruin anyone's holiday by making it all about us.
We were extremely lucky to have the wedding at The Jefferson Hotel. It is the place where we have mother's day brunch and where I used to grab happy hour drinks with my graduate school friends. There is no place like, especially when it is decorated for Christmas.
WEARING MOM'S DRESS
Tell us about your attire choices.
I was honored to wear my mother's beautiful long-sleeve, lace dress. With the help of Pleiades Bridal Design, it only took a few minor alteration to make it my very own. I wanted my bridesmaids to have fun with their dresses without having to spend a fortune. I requested metallic sequence and they each chose their own design. The men looked dapper in their tuxedos. Since it was New Year's Eve, we went a bit more formal and embraced the sparkles.
A FULL HOUSE
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important thing was that we were surrounded by our family and friends so we packed the room to the brim! If anyone else has RSVPed “yes”, there was a scenario where my immediate family did not sit for dinner. The seated dinner was also very important because we have always connected best with others around a good meal. We spent a lot of time between us and our parents on the seating chart to ensure that everyone would enjoy their table. We also offered five different menu options to offer our guests a good selection.
