I’m always amazed how a little pop of color can infuse so much style and whimsy into a wedding. Take this Pretty Winery Wedding designed by Allison Barnes Events where she helped the couple pull off an unexpected color palette of shades of pink paired with burned red —from the stunning florals to wedding signs, they carried the gorgeous palette throughout. But, the best part of this little affair was how the bride was able to infuse her Portuguese background and traditions in her wedding day with so much style. From the Photographer… “Helena and her parents came to the U.S. from Portugal when she was 4 years old. As immigrants, her parents wanted a better life for their family, while keeping the Portuguese traditions with them. When she became engaged to her now husband she knew he was the right one for her because he also understood the importance of having Portuguese traditions in their wedding!! Although they chose not to have a traditional church ceremony, they were able to hold a traditional Catholic ceremony. If you know a Portuguese person then you know how food is the main staple in any celebration! When choosing a venue for their wedding they wanted to make sure they had the option of picking their own caterer as they wanted Portuguese food served to their guests. At Stone Tower Winery the cocktail hour featured a sampling of some of the best Portugal has to offer: Leitão Bairrada, Bolinhos de Bacalhau, and Cchouriço. Wedding guests were also treated to three tables full of desserts, including Pastel De Nata, Arroz Doce, and Cavacas. Guests danced the night away, enjoyed the cafe lights on the patio overlooking the vines and mountains – played yard games and sat by the fire – all while enjoying the many offerings of the Portuguese culture. It was safe to say no one went home hungry & guests were blown away by the beauty and love felt at this wedding!”
