{Wedding Trends} : Baby’s Breath – Part 1

Baby’s Breath is an insanely affordable and DIY friendly floral element can make a big impact, particularly when used in large volumes.  It’s delicate and pretty, and most importantly, can be purchased for mere pennies a bunch!
Some people love it, and some hate it (I would too after looking at some of my local florist's work, read the note below to see what I’m talking about). But, baby’s breath is growing on me, and now you will know why.
It’s a fabulous choice for the winter bride (what better way to capture the feel of snow?) or for those of you looking for budget friendly alternatives for your wedding décor. Check out these great examples of how to incorporate baby’s breath into your wedding. (Image source)
The centerpieces look really spectacular, when done right. (Image Sources: left, right, bottom)

Baby's breath is perfect for ceremony decor, because it brings a feeling of pureness. (top image, bottom images: left, middle, right)

I preferd the bridal bouquets with just a touch of baby's breath like these two. (bouquet on the left, bouquet on the right)
But, I loved the idea of bridesmaid bouquets completly made out of baby's breath.(top, bottom)

And of course for a comprehensive look, don't forget to incorporate baby's breath into the wedding details. Image sources: Boutonnièr, escort cards floral bed, flower girl headpieces, bride and decor.

NOTE: Looking at some photos of a bridal show here in El Paso, I found out that my local florists got the memo about the baby’s breath trend. And I’m so happy for it? But, unfortunately, some (or at least one) didn’t get the memo of how to do it right. Red roses and branches, plus baby’s breath in the same centerpiece… not quite classy. Sorry for the negativity, but I can’t let the “experts” fool you.  The images above are great examples of how these dainty teeny flowers SHOULD be use in wedding décor… beautiful, right?  If you have questions or observations, please e-mail me [email protected] or drop me a comment bellow, I would love to hear from you?
