What if we could reach for the stars and bring them to you? Luckily, we are delighted to do exactly that by bringing you this celestial wedding inspiration curated under the conducting baton of Karla Solózano for Kiss & Say I Do Events, and captured by the talented Lily Tapia Photography – two of our favorite Latinx wedding pros!
This styled shoot took place at The Clara, located in the LA Arts District. It is a beautiful Art Deco building built-in 1923 with a roaring ’20s vibe that is so charming. With natural light entering gently, black and white walls, stunning chandeliers, this venue the perfect fit for contemporary couples who wish for an intimate celebration!
When it comes to the wedding fashion we are completely starry-eye by their styling! We are adoring that stunning gown embodying the perfect mermaid silhouette adorned with shimmering lace, complemented by whimsical star and moon details accessories. The super cool groom’s look features a celestial-themed velvet jacket that brought the whole celestial theme to a new level of chic. And of course, what can we say about the couple’s sweet dog… just adorable!
But, perhaps our favorite par was the stellar decor! Everything was made in the name of black, white, deep green, and gilded touch. The floral greenery centerpieces and foliage arrangements throughout the ceremony and reception decor have us mesmerized with their play of textures, wonderfully complimenting that gold moon backdrop. I invite you to read up below the gallery more about the inspiration behind every chic element. And if you are just as much enchanted as we are, make sure to visit the FULL GALLERY from this shoot whose entire diverse team truly made an epic portrayal of the celestial theme!
From the designer…
The Los Angeles Arts District is always a source of inspiration and the home for creative people in LA. Creativity coming from different aspects of LA and this time the history of the roaring ’20s and the Great Gatsby was the vibe the venue we photographed brought!
DTLA is where The Clara is located, this historic Art Deco space that was previously a bank features its original bank vault built in 1923 and marble tile floors.
The art deco but modern look of the venue along with the natural light, its black and white walls, and unique custom chandeliers, was the perfect combination of the celestial and modern inspiration of a simple but elegant color palette and overall design of the entire shoot. It is also perfect for the couple looking for an intimate and very unique space.
Colors of black, white, deep green, and gold paired perfectly with the geometric shapes within the scene while the floral arrangements had us totally in love with the overall look!
Beautiful and fun arrangements with a mix of star asparagus and camellia foliage kept the focus on movement and texture and were the perfect addition to the ceremony’s gorgeous gold moon backdrop along with the tall modern candelabras that framed the entire ceremony backdrop. The chameleon gold chairs complemented the modern and minimalistic vibe of the shoot.
The favorite was Kingsley, the sweet white Husky/Samoyed/Pomeranian dog that was the perfect addition to the shoot and left us all in love!
The tablescape was set by one of the big windows of the reception letting the natural light bring out the colors of the floral arrangements on the table using orlaya and green mist chosen for their shape because their petals remind us of the stars. The modern candelabras added the perfect elegant and romantic touch. In addition, the gorgeous beige velvet chairs added to the modern look.
The couple enjoyed a beautiful, delicious original cocktail at the black modern bar. This original cocktail from The Liquid Collaborative called Azuñia Rising was made with Azuñia Tequila Añejo, Yellow Chartreuse, Kalani coconut liqueur, and Aperol. The inspiration for using these cocktails was the beautiful and alluring colors and aromas making these enticing and alluring elixirs perfect for a couple in love. Cheers!
Then the fun continued with desserts, with a marbled 2-tier cake, delicious macarons with celestial designs, and fruit tarts with the cutest little moon and stars designs on top.
The bride wore a gorgeous gown with a deep plunging neckline and mermaid silhouette that had a romantic, timeless, and glamorous feel. With its delicate shimmering lace in Ivory over a Champagne colored lining, the look was just magical!
The look was complemented by the beautiful Galaxia Tiara and Earrings, Handmade of silver & gold star & moon findings that are encrusted with shimmering Swarovski rhinestones, the tiara & earrings added the perfect touch of whimsy for the celestial setting! The custom lace booties were showstoppers for those brides wanting the total 1920’s vintage feel.
The groom wore a tux with a statement subdued celestial pattern velvet shawl jacket and a fun boutonniere that was a perfect match to the theme.
The shoot ended with a beautiful Downtown Los Angeles sunset with images of the industrial building as a backdrop as well as some fun in the alley full of amazing graffiti!
