From the Bride…” We met one month short of six years before our wedding day. TJ grew up mostly in Southern California and found refuge in my little Northern California hometown up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. I had just moved back to my hometown for the summer after graduating from college in Santa Cruz. Less than a month of being back up north, we met on a warm summer night and fell head over heels in love. Like most good love stories, we’ve had our trials and tribulations, but since that summer night, we’ve never stopped falling in love. We both love to travel and explore and experience new places together. We also love to revisit our favorite spots which is why I never saw the proposal coming. We planned a Fall trip to our most sacred place- Big Sur. It was at sunset overlooking the ocean from a vantage that made us feel like we were at the end of the earth that TJ got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I was speechless; until I said yes, of course. From that moment, we knew we wanted to get married in or around Big Sur. Once we found The Holly Farm, there was no other place on earth that we could imagine spending our wedding weekend. We had The Holly Farm to ourselves (and twenty or so of our closest friends and family) for an entire four days of the wedding weekend. We envisioned a wedding that was more than just a 5 hour ceremony and reception but, instead, an entire weekend to celebrate love and bring friends and family closer. My vision for the style of the wedding was a little California-chic, with rustic touches, while still maintaining an overall romantic, classy vibe. I had fun contrasting the different styles, like using simple linen runners but then contrasting with lush, romantic blooms all over the tables. It was also important to us to add in fun touches, like our taco truck rehearsal dinner, photo booth, and pizza served at 10 pm when the guests were hungry after drinking and dancing. And, of course, we had the most incredible vendors! Every one of our vendors listened to our vision and went above and beyond to make the wedding even more beautiful than we could have imagined. I could not stop crying on Sunday when it was finally time to go. They were tears of joy, though, because I had the most unbelievably perfect four days of my life surrounded by my favorite people, at the most perfect wedding of my dreams, marrying my best friend in the world.”
