You know you can’t live without her so you buy a beautiful ring to show her your undying love for her and like 2.1 million American couples this year, you’re about to be engaged! So before you break a sweat with all the lovely details that go into planning a proposal you should first do one of the most critical steps, insuring the ring! With Jewelers Mutual’s Perfect Circle® Jewelry Insurance you can ensure your token of love will be protected from loss, theft, or damage and what’s more is that it’s quick, easy, and more affordable than you think! Our friends at Jewelers Mutual offer you a quick and easy quote and online application so you can see for yourself! Once your ring is insured, you can now dazzle your future bride!
Before I get to more details about insuring your engagement ring I’d like to thank Luca Faz for sending this surprise engagement proposal from an American Firefighter in Venice. More information on this shoot can be found at the bottom of this post.
A recent Jewelers Mutual survey of 650 recently engaged men found that 50% of men did not insure the ring after purchase, leaving the jewelry without protection in cases of loss, theft or damage, but Jewelers Mutual provides personal jewelry protection against loss, damage, theft and mysterious disappearance for your token of love so you can breath easier until the BIG day!

But, that isn’t all lovebirds, Jewelers Mutual has a few tips to keeping your ring safe until it is ready to slide on your future bride’s finger:
  1. Store the ring in a safe place. 66%of men reported in the survey that they stored the ring at their place of residence after purchase. This may not be the safest option.
  2. Ensure she doesn't find it. Hiding the ring at home raises the potential that a future bride will discover it. Keeping the ring at a bank safety deposit box will prevent this from happening and also keep the ring safe from theft.
  3. Document it. Have you made a list of all of the things you will need for a proposal? Flowers, music, location? Don't forget to also keep an accurate appraisal of the ring. Make two copies and store one separate from your jewelry. Also include a photo or video of the ring.
  4. Keep it with you and don't leave it unattended in a car or suitcase. If traveling to a special destination for a proposal when you arrive at a hotel or restaurant, don't hand your jewelry bag to a hotel or restaurant staff. Carry it personally.

So don’t be left uninsured gentleman and Insure it right! Perfect Circle® Jewelry Insurance from Jewelers Mutual provides worldwide protection against loss, damage, theft and mysterious disappearance wherever your travels take you.

From Luca Faz Photographer in Venice“Thomas is a firefighter from California, and this time in ignited the perpetual love of Heather by a surprise marriage proposal in Venice. I assisted in suggesting a quite and romantic place – San Giorgio island (conveniently located in front of their hotel near San Marco Square).
He told her that it was a good idea to go there to have a view from the Church's tower – that indeed is a remarkable one. I was waiting in the planned place with a dozen of red roses and an assistant and hidden cameras. They took the ferry, he reached the roses and gave them to her one by one with sweet words. Then he took the ring, kneed and made his marriage proposal.
I left them some privacy and they actually visited the tower of the church, then after a quick change we have a short photographic walk around the area of Castello.”
